Hackathon Tasks and Challenges

The tasks are aimed at improving participants’ technical skills in the field of OSINT and cybersecurity, raising the awareness level of specialists, and assisting in preparation for combating real threats.

    • Using limited data (such as a name, location, email address, or phone number), find as much information as possible about a person;
    • Identify potential threats or compromising information by analyzing a user’s social media profile.
    • Research the structure of specific online communities (on social media or forums), identify key influencers, and reveal connections between community members.
    • Conduct simulated attacks using social engineering, phishing, and fake websites to extract confidential information.
    • Identify and trace the sources of disinformation and the individuals or entities involved, globally across various media platforms;
    • Searching for information using keywords or quotes and verifying the reliability of sources. Analyzing keywords in articles or social media posts.
    • Determine the geolocation of images or videos using online mentions, metadata, and other open-source data.
    • Find information about an organization, individual, or company through domains, related services, and online activity of the subject.

    Extract and analyze information from files (such as PDFs or DOCs), including metadata. Track digital traces, such as author names, creation dates, and associated organizations.

    • Creation of a simulated environment or incident.
    • Conducting an investigation, analyzing log files, and identifying the point of entry.
    • Creation of solutions for automating cyber threat detection.
    • Development of a tool for traffic monitoring, malware analysis, and alerting about potential threats.
    • Scanning the perimeter of IT infrastructure.
    • Identifying vulnerable points.

Ideathon

29 nov. — 30 nov.
Format: Online

During the Ideathon, participants will define key problems and propose solutions, which will be implemented during the three-day Hackathon.

The goal of the Ideathon is for participants to create a White Paper detailing the implementation of their chosen idea.

Hackathon

02 dec. - 05 dec.
Format: Online

During the Hackathon, ideas and projects selected during the Ideathon phase will be implemented. Participant teams can choose from the submitted project ideas. Each idea can be worked on by multiple teams simultaneously. The best project implementation will be evaluated and awarded.

Awards ceremony

Format: Offline

Summaries of the event and presentations by industry experts, as well as the awards ceremony for participants and their presented projects.
